Vihiga NYC delegates have officially endorsed Mbehi David, popularly known as MD, for the position of National Youth Council (NYC) Chairperson following a courtesy visit to his residence in Kakamega.

The delegation visited MD in a show of solidarity and commitment to his leadership, marking a significant moment in his bid for the influential youth leadership position. The endorsement signals growing support for his candidature among youth representatives seeking stronger representation and a more inclusive approach to youth affairs.

During the visit, the Vihiga delegates reaffirmed their confidence in MD’s leadership and expressed their willingness to support his ambition to lead the National Youth Council. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the youth leaders to engage with the incoming chairperson and demonstrate their commitment to advancing the interests of young people.

The endorsement comes at a time when youth representation remains a critical issue, with young people seeking greater involvement in decision-making processes, leadership opportunities, employment initiatives and the development of policies that directly affect their future.

The National Youth Council plays an important role in representing young people and providing a platform through which their concerns, aspirations and priorities can be communicated to relevant stakeholders. Consequently, the leadership of the council is expected to demonstrate commitment to youth empowerment, accountability and meaningful engagement with young people across the country.

The visit to MD’s residence in Kakamega further underscored the importance of consultations, solidarity and cooperation among youth leaders as they rally behind candidates they believe can champion their interests.

For MD, the endorsement by the Vihiga NYC delegates represents a show of confidence in his leadership ambitions and an opportunity to consolidate support from different youth constituencies.

As youth leaders continue to engage around the council’s leadership, attention is expected to focus on the candidates’ ability to unite young people, strengthen representation and promote initiatives that respond to their social and economic challenges.

The Vihiga delegation’s endorsement adds momentum to MD’s candidature as he seeks to lead the National Youth Council and advance the voice of young people.
