Ruto's Leadership: Are Kenyans Getting The Change They Were Promised?
President William Ruto's leadership continues to shape Kenya's political and economic debate as the country approaches the 2027 General Election.
Since taking office in September 2022, his administration has prioritised affordable housing, healthcare reforms, agricultural support and employment opportunities. Official statistics show that Kenya's economy grew by 4.6% in 2025, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
However, economic growth has not ended public concerns about the cost of living, taxation, unemployment and public debt. Many Kenyans want to see government policies translate into better incomes, accessible healthcare and sustainable jobs.
The government's healthcare reforms and affordable housing programme remain significant parts of its agenda, but their success depends on effective implementation and whether ordinary citizens benefit.
Governance and accountability are equally important. Kenyans continue to demand transparency in public spending and protection of constitutional rights.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, Ruto's administration faces a defining question: can it turn its promises and reforms into tangible improvements in people's lives?
Ultimately, voters will judge the government not only by its announcements but by the results they experience.
