Popular Kikuyu comedian and content creator Bryan Muiruri, better known as Kufai, has married his longtime lover Lucy Muthoni in a colourful church wedding in Naivasha, sending his fans into celebration across social media this weekend.

The ceremony took place at Deliverance Church in Naivasha and drew family, friends and a large crowd of well-wishers, according to K24 Digital and Mpasho. Photos and clips from the wedding have been widely shared online since Saturday.

Vows and a kiss

Lucy walked down the aisle escorted by her parents, dressed in a long white gown with a veil and carrying a large bouquet. The couple exchanged vows before the officiating minister and, after being pronounced husband and wife, sealed the union with a kiss as guests cheered.

Kufai's groomsmen were turned out in cream suits with maroon ties, adding to a colour scheme of white, red and maroon that ran through the day.

Celebrity guests

The wedding brought together several familiar faces from the Kikuyu entertainment scene. Among those reported to have attended were:

  • Gospel singer Ruth Wa Mum
  • Philanthropist and musician Karangu Muraya, who drove the bridal car carrying the newlyweds to the reception
  • Content creator Dada Sarah
  • Fellow comedian Mbote Njogu, who stood out in a white outfit with green detailing

The celebrations then moved to Derby Place in Naivasha, where guests ate, danced and toasted the couple.

The turnout reflected the close-knit nature of the Kikuyu entertainment circle, where comedians, gospel artistes and digital creators regularly feature in each other's content and events. Several of the guests shared their own clips from the church and the reception on their social media pages, helping the wedding trend through the weekend.

Fans celebrate

Kufai has built a large following with his Kikuyu-language skits and comedy content, and fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages, many praising the couple for choosing a church wedding. "Kufai Comedian has married a very beautiful girl in Naivasha today," one widely shared post on X read on Saturday.

The wedding adds to a busy season of celebrity unions in Kenya's entertainment industry, with musician Bahati and his wife Diana Marua also preparing for their own wedding on 6 November.
