Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto, has held a bridal shower with close friends and family, the clearest sign yet that her white wedding to Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge is fast approaching.

Photos from the intimate celebration, which Charlene shared on her social media pages on Tuesday, November 3, quickly spread across Kenyan and Tanzanian timelines and drew a wave of congratulatory messages.

"Grateful that the amazing women I have done life with over the years chose to celebrate me in my new season," she wrote.

A garden party in pink

According to Pulse Kenya, the shower was held outdoors in a garden setting. Guests were welcomed by a large arched mirror inscribed with the words "Welcome to Charlene's Bridal Shower" in pink lettering.

  • Guests followed a dress code built around shades of pink, from blush and rose to fuchsia and coral, with a few in white and cream.
  • Charlene stood out in a sleeveless silver-white mini dress with a fitted bodice and flared skirt.
  • The venue featured a canopy strung with fairy lights, macrame decorations and a long dining table set with pink floral centrepieces.
  • K24 Digital reported that her sister Stephanie was among the guests and that the cake carried messages including "Hey Mrs Yunge".

From Kilgoris to the white wedding

The shower comes nearly three months after the couple's traditional Koito ceremony on August 8 at Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County. That event brought together relatives, friends and prominent guests from both Kenya and Tanzania.

Yunge, 36, is the founder of Goodsam, a company working to make smartphones more accessible across Africa, according to K24 Digital. The date and venue of the white wedding have not been made public.

'Tunakupenda wifi'

Tanzanian fans flooded Charlene's posts with messages welcoming her into the Yunge family, many of them in Swahili. "Hongera wifi tunakupenda mwaya," one follower wrote, while another said: "Karibu sana Mwanza shemeji."

K24 Digital also noted that Stephanie has been a constant presence at her sister's side, from the Kilgoris traditional ceremony to this week's shower.

Charlene has shared selected moments of her wedding journey online, from the Koito to the shower, while keeping details of the final ceremony under wraps and leaving fans guessing about the big day.
