There was no bitterness in her voice, only a phrase that quickly spread across Kenyan social media: "Life lazima imove on."

Media personality and content creator Nana Owiti says she would be happy for her former partner, rapper King Kaka, if the rumours linking him to Ema Kalekye turn out to be true, K24 Digital and Mpasho reported on Thursday, November 5.

What Nana said

Speaking in a phone call with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray, Nana said people cannot remain stuck in one place forever and that everyone should be allowed to live their lives without unnecessary interference.

"You have to be better than yesterday," she said, according to K24 Digital.

Mpasho reported that she described herself as focused on her children and on her own personal growth since the split.

How the rumours started

The speculation began after King Kaka shared a video of Ema enjoying his new love song. Their playful exchanges online, including the rapper calling her "Morio wa mine", sent fans into overdrive, with some describing it as a "soft launch" of a new relationship.

Ema has dismissed the claims, saying it was "simply a song repost, nothing more" and that the matter had been blown out of proportion. King Kaka has not confirmed that the two are dating.

A long road since the split

King Kaka, real name Kennedy Ombima, and Nana announced their separation in December 2024 after more than a decade together. The couple, once one of Kenya's most admired celebrity pairs, have said they continue to co-parent their children.

In June this year, King Kaka said the separation had taken him by surprise, a remark that reignited public interest in the breakup.

Why fans are talking

Nana's calm response has drawn widespread praise online, with many fans describing it as a lesson in handling a public breakup with grace. Others say the attention shows how closely Kenyans still follow the former couple nearly two years on.

For now, the only confirmed facts are a shared song, a few flirty comments and an ex who says she has moved on and wishes him well.
