The Linda Mwananchi movement, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, is intensifying preparations for a major political rally in Bungoma County as the campaign continues to gain momentum across the country. The Bungoma tour is expected to take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, following an earlier rally in Trans Nzoia County scheduled for July 25.

The planned Bungoma event comes amid growing support for the movement in Western Kenya. In a significant boost, former Bungoma Governor Wafula Wangamati recently announced that he had officially joined the Linda Mwananchi movement and pledged to spearhead mobilization efforts in Bungoma and the wider Western region.

Speaking during preparations for the rally, Wangamati described the movement as a platform aimed at championing the interests of ordinary Kenyans and strengthening democratic governance. He also urged supporters to turn out in large numbers for Sifuna's homecoming event.

The rally is expected to be held at Posta Grounds in Bungoma Town, according to promotional materials circulated by leaders allied to the movement. The gathering is likely to attract political leaders and supporters from across the Western region.

Sifuna has recently intensified nationwide tours under the Linda Mwananchi banner, holding public engagements in several counties while positioning the movement as a people-driven platform focused on governance, accountability, and the protection of citizens' rights. The latest rallies follow recent engagements in Taita Taveta and other parts of the country.

Political observers view the Bungoma rally as a crucial test of the movement's growing influence in Western Kenya, a region that remains strategically important in the country's political landscape ahead of the 2027 General Election.
