Maseno University (MSU) has registered an impressive performance in the latest sporting competitions, securing three podium finishes across volleyball, hockey and basketball, in a campaign that showcased the institution's determination, resilience and competitive spirit.

The university's women volleyball team emerged runners-up after an impressive journey to the final. MSU began its campaign with a convincing victory over Kabianga in the quarter-finals before overcoming Kisii University in the semi-finals, winning both encounters in straight sets. However, their impressive run came to an end in the final, where they suffered defeat against the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), settling for the silver medal.

In men's hockey, MSU demonstrated resilience despite missing out on a place in the final. The team suffered a semi-final defeat against Kaimosi University but bounced back strongly to defeat Kabianga in the third-place playoff, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.

Meanwhile, the women's basketball team also delivered a commendable performance. MSU opened its campaign with a quarter-final victory over Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), advancing to the semi-finals. However, the team lost to Kisii University, forcing them into the third-place playoff, where they recovered to defeat Rongo University and secure another bronze medal.

Collectively, the three teams recorded five victories, one silver medal and two bronze medals, giving Maseno University three podium finishes in the competition.

The results reflect the commitment, discipline and teamwork demonstrated by the student-athletes and their technical benches throughout the tournament.

Although the volleyball team narrowly missed the championship title, and the hockey and basketball teams fell short of reaching their respective finals, their ability to fight back and secure podium positions remains a significant achievement.

The victories have once again demonstrated MSU's growing sporting ambition and its determination to remain competitive in university sports.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and supporters for flying the Maseno University flag high. One team, three podiums and one proud MSU!
