Teachers Prepare for 2026 National Examinations as TSC and KNEC Begin Deployment Plans
The preparations for Kenya’s 2026 national examinations have entered a critical phase, with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) working on arrangements for the deployment of teachers to support the examination process.
The preparations will cover major assessments and examinations, including the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Teachers are expected to play key roles in the administration and supervision of the examinations, with deployment arrangements intended to ensure adequate personnel are available across examination centres.
The exercise comes as schools enter the final stages of the academic year, with candidates expected to intensify their preparations ahead of the national examination period.
TSC deployment
The Teachers Service Commission is expected to coordinate the identification and deployment of teachers who will participate in the examination process.
The deployment process is aimed at ensuring that examination centres have sufficient personnel while maintaining the integrity and security of the national examinations.
Teachers selected for examination duties are expected to follow guidelines issued by the relevant authorities, including reporting to their assigned centres within the stipulated timelines.
KNEC preparations
KNEC remains responsible for coordinating the administration of national assessments and examinations and is expected to issue further instructions to schools and examination officials as preparations progress.
The council has consistently urged teachers, candidates and school administrators to observe examination regulations and avoid practices that could compromise the credibility of the examination process.
With thousands of candidates expected to sit the various assessments and examinations, parents and guardians are also being encouraged to support learners as they prepare for the final stage of the academic year.
Further details on teacher deployment, examination centres, reporting dates and official examination guidelines are expected from TSC and KNEC.
