MKU Sets December 4 For 30th Graduation Ceremony
Mount Kenya University (MKU) has announced December 4, 2026, as the date for its 30th Graduation Ceremony, setting the stage for a major academic celebration that will bring together graduands, university officials, families and other stakeholders.
The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., will take place at the Graduation Pavilion, Happy Valley Ground, along Garissa Road.
This year's graduation will be held under the theme "Inter-generational Dialogue for National Cohesion and Democracy," highlighting the importance of constructive engagement between different generations in promoting national unity, democratic values and social cohesion.
In a communication to prospective graduands, the university has outlined a series of important administrative deadlines that candidates must observe ahead of the ceremony.
November 5, 2026, has been set as the deadline for verifying names and correcting spelling errors to ensure that graduands' details are accurately captured in official university records.
Additionally, students are required to complete their financial clearance by November 10, 2026, to qualify for inclusion in the graduation booklet and certificate list. The university has urged prospective graduands to ensure that they settle outstanding obligations within the stipulated period.
The collection of graduation gowns will run from November 23 to December 2, 2026, giving eligible students an opportunity to prepare for the long-awaited occasion.
Meanwhile, all graduands are expected to attend a mandatory graduation rehearsal scheduled for December 3 at 9:00 a.m. The rehearsal will familiarise candidates with the proceedings and protocols of the ceremony.
The university has also advised prospective graduands to confirm their names on the official graduation list published on its website. Those who have completed the necessary clearance procedures are encouraged to follow further instructions issued by their respective campuses.
The 30th graduation ceremony marks another milestone in MKU's commitment to higher education, academic excellence and the development of skilled professionals.
For thousands of successful candidates, December 4 will represent the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice and perseverance as they prepare to transition into new professional and personal chapters.
