Hello Mr. Right Kenya returns for Season 5 with Trisha Khalid as Dr. Ofweneke's new co-host
Kenya's popular TV dating show Hello Mr. Right Kenya is back for a fifth season, and actress, model and content creator Trisha Khalid is joining the team as the new celebrity co-host.
The new line-up
Khalid was unveiled at a press briefing in Nairobi's Upper Hill. She joins comedian Dr. Ofweneke, who returns as lead host, and relationship expert Getrude Mungai. Khalid replaces Risper Faith, who co-hosted Season 4.
"I'm about to stress him out," Khalid joked about working with Ofweneke. He was just as upbeat: "Personally, I know I'm going to have a good time this season."
StarTimes Marketing Director Tamima Ibrahim said the choice was deliberate, pointing to Khalid's large following and TV experience. "Women want to be her, and men want to have her," she said.
Love at every age
Season 5 widens who can look for love on the show. This year's contestants include:
- people living with disabilities
- people with skin pigmentation conditions
- men and women aged 45 and above, including divorced, separated and widowed singles
"We have had women over 45, and we have a 65-year-old man coming to look for love," Mungai said.
When and where to watch
- Auditions episode: Saturday, October 17
- Episode 1: Saturday, October 31
- Time: every Saturday at 8pm
- Channels: Rembo TV, channel 113 on StarTimes aerial decoders and channel 484 on StarTimes satellite (DTH), plus the StarTimes ON app
With a new co-host and a more diverse cast, Season 5 is aiming to show that it is never too late to find love.
